Eagles sign Samuel to six-year contract

In what I think is a surprising move the Eagles have signed Asante Samuel today on the opening of free agency. I'm not really sold on liking Samuel, he is a good player, but he's also caused a lot of trouble and will probably get his fair share of fines. Whether or not Lito Sheppard actually wants out of Philly is yet to be determined, but this move looks to protect the Eagles in case that happens. It seems like the Eagles were one of the contenders for Samuel before free agency began and the fact that Eagles made a strong offer really swayed his decision. The secondary right now is made up of Lito Sheppard, Sheldon Brown, Samuel, Brian Dawkins, and Quintin Mikell. Apparently many believe either Sheppard or Brown will make a move to safety, but we will have to see what happens. This move definitely improves the defense. Samuel is 27 and the contract is 6 years for $60 million.

Other Eagles news:
-Eagles released Jevon Kearse.
-Mike Patterson had got arrested on marijuana possession (<50grams).
-New York Giants safety Gibril Wilson is also possibly going to be signed by the Eagles, but I guess that rumor will die now that Samuel is signed.

ESPN - Eagles sign Samuel to six-year contract - NFL: "Samuel, an All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection this past season, spent the last five seasons with the New England Patriots and had 16 interceptions the last two seasons. The Eagles wasted little time making an offer, reportedly worth up to $60 million, on the first day of free agency."

ESPN Page 2 - Pros and cons of Bonds

ESPN Page 2 - Page 2: Pros and cons of Bonds

So what team should sign Barry Bonds, Page 2 breaks it down and here's what the say about the Phillies:
Pro: Would give the home fans a player they could all feel comfortable booing.
Con: No con.
The Phillies are the only team listed with no cons, interesting; but I guess that is because of the Pro listed. Another good line, "Might be mistaken for Mr. Met."
Page 2 has a lot of funny articles. Most of them are too long, but this one is short and funny. So take 2 minutes and enjoy it.

Phillies and Mets 2008 Matchups

Mets Fans Have Begun Their CBP Takeover Plot [700 Level]

In case you didn't see that little bit saying how Mets fans plan to come down and take over CBP, then you need to check it out. I don't know if I'll be able to make it up to Shea to take over there but I will make it to every Phillies-Mets game at CBP that I can. So here is the list of all the matchups between the two teams this summer. The Phillies play 162 games, but these might be the 18 most important games. They will at least be some of the most exciting and most passionate games.

It's time for pitchers and catchers to report for Spring Training. I am excited for Phillies baseball. The Phils are apparently about sign Kris Benson. What's that mean, well it means his hot milf wife, Anna Benson, will be coming to Philadelphia. I'll let the other better bloggers analyze and report the signing. I know you just want to know what she looks like so I'll give you the pictures.
Got rid of the pictures, just google her name and you'll be happy.
