The team wouldn't mind if Rowand accepted, though that is unlikely given the five-year, $90 million deal Torii Hunter signed and the high demand for Rowand."
This is a good move by the Phillies because well if he accepts then the Phillies are spending their money on him. I like him and its not my money being spent. If he goes elsewhere then they get some nice draft picks in return and god knows we need those. I wonder why the waited until the last second to offer it to him though, that seems unnecessary.
