Phillies Win Again With 8th Inning Rally

To start the 8th inning with the game tied at 3 Chase Utley got hit by a pitch, Ryan Howard struck out, and Pat Burrell walked. Wes Helms came up next and hit a slow bloop single to center that allowed Utley to score. On the play Burrell went for 3rd base and the throw to the 3rd got past 3B Ryan Zimmerman and went into the dugout, forcing Burrell home as well. Carlos Ruiz then came up and singled in Helms to make it a 6-3 game, which was enough for the Phils tonight.
The other runs were scored by a double by Burrell in the 6th that scored Utley, an Aaron Rowand double in the 2nd that scored Helms, and also a solo homer by Rowand in the 7th.
Alfonseca got the win in relief and Tom Gordon got his 4th save of the season.
Ryan Howard had another hitless day-bringing his average down to .207.
Moyer pitched rather well, going 6 innings and giving up 3 runs.
The Phillies have won 4 straight and 5 of their last 6 bringing their record to 8-11
